In late 2002, the lawyers of Virginia Estate Plans, PLC, divided the firm into two separate organizations, one focusing on estate planning and the other concentrating on the administration of estates and trusts. Practice areas include probate, trust administration, and other legal and fiduciary services, estate taxes, fiduciary income taxes, alternative dispute resolution, and post-mortem tax planning.
In 2009, the lawyers of Virginia Estate Plans, PLC, formed 529 Counsel, PLC, to help states and educational institutions establish and maintain their 529 Plans in compliance with all laws and regulations. We advise program managers and administrators on how to properly fulfill their responsibilities regarding the day-to-day operation of the 529 Plans they serve. Just as importantly, we make sure that our clients' plans provide every tax benefit to which plan participants are entitled, making it possible for more men and women to attain their goal of higher education.
